MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness is a deliberate and objective awareness of, and attention to, the present moment.

This awareness helps us to:

  • Observe our thoughts, rather than getting caught up in them and allowing them to spiral and negatively affect us

  • Identify, acknowledge, accept and let go of feelings as they come and go

  • Remain calm and centred in triggering scenarios, such as an argument with a loved one

  • Reduce anxiety, stress and depression by training our mind not to agonize over the future or dwell on the past

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a thought-based, goal focused form of psychotherapy.

CBT helps us to:

  • Use logic to challenge negative thoughts and beliefs which lead to destructive emotions and behaviours

  • Set SMART goals to actively bring about change

  • Realign our emotional filter through which we experience the world around us

  • Diminish magnification/catasrophising (jumping to negative conclusions, thinking of the worst possible outcome of a situation)

  • Tackle (mood and sleep disorders) such as Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Insomnia and Phobias and more
